The Southern San Mateo County Task Force on New Hospital Construction

Mission Statement
The Southern San Mateo County Task Force on New Hospital Construction (Task Force) was created by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to inform the broader community of plans for healthcare delivery. With the proposed building of a new Palo Alto Medical Foundation facility in San Carlos, the proposed reconstruction of Sequoia Hospital and the reconstruction of the Kaiser campus in Redwood City, a number of questions have arisen about the future of healthcare in Southern San Mateo County. The Task Force is charged with gathering information from the affected communities and constituencies, identifying issues that need to be addressed and sharing the findings with the Board of Supervisors, City Councils and the various healthcare organizations in order to make more informed decisions.
The Task Force is composed of San Mateo County Supervisors Jerry Hill, Rich Gordon and Rose Jacobs Gibson and City Councils representatives of the 8 affected cities (Atherton, Belmont, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Portola Valley, Redwood City, San Carlos, and Woodside). The Task Force will meet over a period of ninety days in various locations to provide a forum for the broader community to learn about the various projects.
