COMMUNITY FORUM ON WELLNESS AND RECOVERY FROM MENTAL ILLNESS SLATED FOR JUNE 2

San Mateo, CA--The San Mateo County Mental Health Board is sponsoring a community forum on wellness and recovery from mental illness on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Building B of the San Mateo County Human Services Agency located at 400 Harbor Boulevard in Belmont.

A panel of consumers, family members and medical professionals will discuss:

  • Views on recovery from focus groups conducted by San Mateo County that included consumers, family members and providers
  • The collaboration of consumer and physician in the recovery process
  • Recovery and wellness from a consumer perspective
  • Supporting recovery from the family's viewpoint

Following the speakers, the audience will be invited to share their thoughts on, and stories of, recovery.
