Visioning Project - Goals  Printer Friendly View

"Sharing a Vision"

What is the most important goal that San Mateo County should set for the year 2010?

That question and its answer are the basis of the Board of Supervisors Vision Project. After data and trend analysis, the Board developed a framework of people, place, prosperity and partnership to pose the question. Out of that framework 38 goal statements were developed to reflect the Board's values and vision for the future of the San Mateo County community.

These goals were presented to San Mateo County residents at eight community meetings. The public is also able to comment on the goals online at the County's web site. More than 250 people participated in prioritizing the goals. Overall, participants ranked the following ten goals for San Mateo County 2010.

The Board of Supervisors will next adopt outcomes by which to measure the progress made throughout the community to achieve the goals.
