Free Residential Tire Recycling Days
Do you have old tires that you need to get rid of?
The County of San Mateo will be hosting a series of FREE tire recycling days for San Mateo County residents. Residents may attend any of the events free of charge. A Tire Recycling Voucher must accompany tires brought to the events.
June 21, 2008 - Pescadero Transfer Station, Bean Hollow road and Artichoke Road, Pescadero.
All events will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
*Only tires will be accepted. No other waste will be accepted. For disposal information, contact recycle works at www.RecycleWorks.org
Informational flyers with attached Tire Recycling Vouchers will be available soon at the following locations:
- San Mateo County Government Center, 455 County Center, 4th Floor, Redwood City
- South San Francisco Scavenger Co., 500 E. Jamie Court, South San Francisco
- Allied Waste Services, 225 Shoreway Road, San Carlos
- San Bruno Garbage Co., 101 Tanforan Avenue, San Bruno
- Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce, 520 Kelly Street, Half Moon Bay
- Local city halls and public libraries
You may request additional vouchers by calling us at 650-372-6216 or download and print the Tire Recycling Voucher.
*Important: Bring your vouchers to tire collection events and do not transport more than 9 tires at a time as allowed by state law. A variance may be granted for transport of up to 20 tires, but you must contact Sandra Estrin at 650-372-6216 to obtain written authorization. This written authorization must also accompany the waste tires in transport.

Tire Recycling Voucher – Good for 4 tires
Please bring this voucher to recycle up to 4 residential tires. Multiple vouchers may be used. Residents transporting 10 or more tires must be issued a written variance prior to transporting the tires to avoid citation by local law enforcement.
