In an effort to streamline the permitting process for performing geotechnical investigations within San Mateo County, we are offering an annual blanket permit to firms wishing to take advantage of more efficient permitting. Once issued, this annual permit would allow your company to perform any number of geotechnical investigation provided the following conditions are met: Subsurface drilling activities under the annual permit would be limited solely to geotechnical investigations. This annual permit would not allow for work of the environmental nature. Destruction of all subsurface installations must conform to the California Well Standards and the San Mateo County Ordinance Code. If subsurface contamination is discovered during drilling operations, your client is to be instructed as to the requirements for reporting the contamination to the Division. At least seventy-two (72) prior to drilling, written notification is to submitted to the Division on Division supplied forms. Facsimiles of the notice are acceptable. No written or verbal approval or response will be given. If there are questions or problems with the notification we will contact the consultant directly. This annual permit would cover all work you would do for the year with no additional cost per event. Without the annual permit, each event must be permitted separately.
