Dependent Care Assistance Plan Care$hares

The County offers a dependent care assistance plan - DCAP - called Care$hares. Care$hares gives you the opportunity to pay for your eligible dependent care expenses with your pre-tax dollars, as provided under federal tax laws. Participation in the program is voluntary. If you are a new employee, you may join the program by filing an enrollment form with Employee and Public Services no later than the first day of the second month following your date of hire. Otherwise, you may enroll during the open enrollment period each November.

A brochure that explains this program in greater detail is available by contacting the Benefits Division.
