| The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors cordially invites you to the opening celebration and official dedication of the new Youth Services Center. Located on 222 Paul Scannell Drive in San Mateo, the festivities includes the ceremony and official dedication program followed by a reception and tours of the new facility. RSVP to (650) 363-4526. The new facility is replacing the 50-year old Hillcrest Juvenile Hall. In addition to the 180-bed Juvenile Hall, the comprehensive and integrated Youth Services Center includes a 30-bed girl's camp, three group homes containing 24-beds designed to serve specific need populations, the Receiving Home,juvenile courts, probation offices, administration, and education building, as well as a health clinic. The 30-month construction of the $150 million state-of-the-art center will be completed in Fall 2006. San Mateo County's Youth Services Center complies with the "New Design" of California youth facilities and is earning national acclaim. |

| The public and private service providers of the San Mateo County Youth Services Center work together to provide safety, security and growth to youth at risk, their families, victims and our community. The Center provides prevention and intervention services that blend the assessment, identification, and development of individual and family strengths. The Center focuses on rehabilitation and accountability, enhancing the family unit and restoring victims and the community from the effects of neglect, abuse and delinquency. |

| The Youth Services Center provides comprehensive programs to meet youths' physical, emotional, familial, education/vocational, and social needs. Youth and families leaving the Center are linked with appropriate community service providers and supported by public and private professionals as part of a comprehensive rehabilitative plan. |
