Senior Nutrition  Printer Friendly View

The Senior Nutrition Program provides nutritious meals at group dining sites such as senior centers and through home delivery to homebound persons sixty years of age and their spouses, as well as adult individuals with disabilities. There are congregate nutrition sites throughout the county. The menus are planned by Registered Dietitians to meet the US Dietary Reference Intakes and are low in fat, sodium and cholesterol.  Contact each individual location for an up-to-date menu.

This program is funded in part by the Older Americans' Act and by contributions from providers. Participants are also invited to make donations to the program. Suggested amounts are posted at each congregate site and through Meals on Wheels providers.

Please see the  County Health Department Food & Nutrition pages  for more information on senior nutrition.

The Nutrition Committee of the Commission on Aging produces a periodical flyer called Nutrition Nuggets, which contains information and recipes of special interest to seniors. This periodical is in Adobe Reader format.
