- Do not wait to file your UI claim. File your claim immediately when you are either unemployed or partially unemployed.
- Inquire about possible waiver of your waiting period when you call, mail or fax your claim.
- If you have difficulty getting through on the 800 phone number and cannot file your claim by Friday of a given week, inquire about the backdating of your benefits.
UI Partial Benefits
EDD California Training Benefits (CTB)
Customers may receive partial unemployment benefits while working part-time. Inquire through the 1-800-300-5616 number or inquire when you call or visit a PeninsulaWorks office.
Some UI clients may receive benefits while attending training. An additional UI benefit of up to 26 weeks may be available while you are in training. - You must speak to an EDD representative about CTB by the 16th week of your UI benefits in order to potentially qualify for an extension on your UI benefits.

Health Care Services - Free and Reduced Cost Options
Healthy Families Program - A low cost health care program for children with family incomes above the level eligible for no cost Medi-Cal and below 250 percent of the federal income guidelines ($34,704 for a family of three). Health Families Program provides health, dental and vision coverage for eligible families.
